SENEGAL-FOOTBALL-CHAMPIONSHIP / Ligue 2: Stade de Mbour beats Jambars FC 1 to 0 – Senegalese press agency

Mbour, January 6 (APS) – Stade de Mbour beat Jambars FC on Sunday with a score of 1 to 0, in a match counting for the 10th day of Ligue 2, noted the APS.

Number 9 Sèkou Sylla scored in the 56th minute the only goal of this Petite Côte derby, which his team played at home, at the Stade Caroline Faye.

”The result was the most important. We told the players that even if you have to play badly and win, you have to do it because we needed these three points to place first. So, we shouldn’t miss this opportunity, since we are at home,” said El Hadj Seck, the coach of Stade de Mbour.

”We started the match well, especially in the first fifteen minutes. Afterwards, we let the opponent circulate the ball. And we had to resist Jambars’ assault and we did it,” he explained.

Jambars FC coach, Ibrahima Ciss, congratulated Stade de Mbour for their victory, while promising to ”continue working”.

Jambars FC dominated almost the entire first half, while lacking realism, with three missed scoring opportunities.

”The terrain does not allow for some technical gestures, like on our terrain. (…) and I deplore it,” regretted the technician.

Stade de Mbour comes out first in its group at the end of this meeting. A “very positive” result that his coach intends to perpetuate. “All we can do is continue this dynamic,” reassured El Hadji Seck.
