A celebration of ultras that goes to excess

This pyrotechnic demonstration was organized by the Magic Fansthe main group of supporters of ASSE, to celebrate the 20 years of the Avant-Gardeone of their components. Disciplinary sanctions to be expected

Faced with these graves incidentsAS Saint-Étienne will have to face disciplinary sanctions from the Professional Football League. A partial or total closed session for the next home matches is strongly considered by the disciplinary committee, which will make its decision on December 18. The closed-door measures will aim to sanction this behavior that disrespects safety rules, endangering the players, officials and the public present at the stadium. Geoffroy-Guichard.

A sad episode for French football

Beyond the disciplinary aspect, this major pyrotechnic incident tarnishes the image of French football and calls into question the efforts made to clean up the stadiums and offer a safe show for families. The authorities will have to think about reinforced preventive measures to prevent such excesses from happening again, threatening the serenity and integrity of sporting events.
