Alexandre Lacazette, captain of Olympique Lyonnais, maintains mystery about his future.
After the derby won against AS Saint-Étienne (1-0), the 33-year-old striker (11 games, 2 goals in L1) declared: “My future? I don’t know yet what I want to do next season.” Interviewed by the media Carré, Lacazette maintained the vagueness by once again discussing his future.
“My future? There is still a lot that can happen. I'm still having trouble visualizing what I want to do next season, it's not yet clear in my head. Could the Champions League make me want to stay? It can. The club still has to want me to stay. There are still too many parameters for me to be able to say right now what I want to do next season. (…) I don’t set an age limit for myself. As long as I enjoy going to training in the morning and as long as I perform well, I will continue.”
At the end of his contract next summer, Lacazette could be pushed out due to the club's financial difficulties, although nothing has been decided yet. Lyon supporters hope that their captain, pillar of the team, will extend the adventure at Groupama Stadium.
