Jurgen Klopp won't be the face of Red Bull at Paris FC, but another former player will be.
At the microphone of RMC Sportthe new owner of the Paris FC, Antoine Arnaultshed light on Red Bull's involvement in the capital club's ambitious project. No, Jurgen Klopp will not immediately be on the Parisians' bench. According to RMCthe former Liverpool manager's new role within Red Bull will involve very little intervention within Paris FC. “We will not be the Red Bull Paris FCthere is no multi-owner thinking as there is in Leipzig or Salzburg and elsewhere in the world,” Arnault said during his introductory press conference.
Klopp is due to fly to Paris in the coming weeks but is unlikely to spend much time at the club. Instead, RMC reports that Red Bull's official contact at Paris FC will be former Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez. The retired former Germany international has been Red Bull Group Technical Director since 2022, and has worked closely with Bragantino, New York Red Bulls and Leipzig.
As of November 29, Gomez is officially named one of Red Bull's two directors at the club. The German has already made several visits to the capital in an attempt to help with the club's restructuring project: specifically regarding the youth academy and training facilities.
