Almost a year ago, following a draw (0-0) against Le Havre, FC Nantes decided to part ways with its coach, Pierre Aristouy. Even today, the latter keeps his dismissal in his throat, particularly having a bitter grudge against the Kita family. A year later, Aristouy decided to settle his scores.
This Sunday, on the occasion of the 12th day of Ligue 1, FC Nantes welcomes Le Havre. A year ago, it was this same poster that victimized Pierre Aristouy. Then coach of the Canaries, he was dismissed following a goalless draw. For West France, Aristouy returned to this meeting which cost him his position at the FC Nantesat the same time settling his accounts.
“It is the result of a lack of strategy and visibility”
« This match came following three defeats. What bothers me about the Kita is that if out of the 19 strikes that day against the Normans, one had returned, I would not have been dismissed at that time. This is the result of a lack of strategy and visibility. Ultimately, I would almost perhaps have understood more that they sacked me after the defeat in Metz », first blurted out Pierre Aristouy.
“Would I have survived 8 games without a victory? »
The former coach of FC Nantes also added: “ Today, if I counted correctly, the current FCN is 8 games in without success, right? Would I have survived 8 games without a victory? (…) When I saw the name Franck Kita appear on my mobile, I immediately understood. I consider that the primary objective of a coach is to bring his team into the opponent's area. Afterwards, what happens on the surfaces – and this is not to absolve oneself of responsibility – is linked to the mastery of the players ».
