Olympian during the difficult season under Michel in 2015-2016, what happened to French winger Georges-Kévin N'koudou?
Aged 20 at the time, the young French winger, trained at FC Nantes, joined Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2015 for a sum of around 1.5 million euros. During a complicated 2015-2016 season for the Marseille club, the dynamic N'koudou stood out for his speed and his ability to eliminate his opponents, scoring 10 goals and delivering 5 assists in all competitions. Despite his interesting season on an individual level, he left OM after just one season, and moved to the Premier League in the summer of 2016.
A mixed English adventure…
In the summer of 2016, Georges-Kévin Nkoudou signed with Tottenham Spurs for a nice check for 11 million euros. However, his London adventure never took off as hoped. In three seasons, he played only 27 matches and scored only 1 goal, struggling to establish himself in a squad full of competition. After several unconvincing loans (to Burnley and Monaco), the Frenchman will eventually leave Spurs permanently in 2019 to relaunch his career in Türkiye.
Thus, in August 2019, Nkoudou signed for Beşiktaş for around 4.5 million euros. Under the colors of the Aigles Noirs, he found form and continued full seasons, becoming a strong man in the Istanbul team. In four years in the red and black jersey, he played more than 100 matches, scored 21 goals and won the Turkish championship as well as the national cup in 2021. This stint will mark a real turning point in his career.
Since 2023, Nkoudou has been a player for Damac FC, a club in the Saudi championship. In a championship increasingly popular for the financial advantages it brings, the former Olympian flourishes with 21 goals in 44 appearances for the Saudi club.
