Since Qatar took the reins of PSG, the best players in the world have worn the Parisian jersey. Lionel Messi, Neymar or even Kylian Mbappé, to name a few. Lamine Yamal is therefore part of the list of players coveted by PSG, except that his price, 1 billion euros, could quickly cool Parisian enthusiasm.
This is not the first time that the Parisian club has tried its luck with Yamal. At only 15 years old, the young striker had already attracted the attention of the biggest European clubs, including PSGready to put an astronomical sum on the table. But the player's entourage preferred to remain faithful to Barcelona. More recently, rumors reported an offer of €250 million, quickly denied by the PSG.
Six-year extension for Yamal?
According to information revealed in the Spanish show The Chiringuito, Lamine Yamal should extend his contract with the FC Barcelona next July 13, his 18th birthday. This new contract would extend over six years and include a release clause of one billion euros. A record sum which would dissuade the most ambitious suitors, including the PSG.
Is it over for Yamal at PSG?
With this astronomical clause, the PSG seems definitely out of the running to afford the services of Lamine Yamal. Despite its immense financial power, Paris could hardly compete with the player's attachment to the Barça and the enormous sum requested. Barring an improbable turn of events, the Spanish star seems well on his way to continuing his rise in the Blaugrana jersey.
