The Safonov threat at PSG
During the last market summer, the PSG spent no less than €20M to recruit Matthew Safonov (25 years old) from Krasnodar. Until now, the Russian goalkeeper has been content to quietly play the role of understudy, but the situation could soon change in the hierarchy of the PSG.

Vincent Candela made a big announcement on this subject in an interview with Russian media RB Sport : « Safonov is already winning the competition against Donnarumma at PSG. Matvey is very popular in France; everyone highly appreciates the level of the Russian goalkeeper. However, Gianluigi has a lot of experience and it is not so easy to bench him. But again, a lot will depend on the coach's vision », indicates the member of France 98. It remains to be seen whether the PSG will indeed decide to shake up its hierarchy of goalkeepers…
