Before Reims – OL, Pierre Sage presented himself to the press this Thursday. The opportunity to address the delicate situation of the club which clearly does not worry it.
In Lyon, the situation is complicated… Last Friday, OL were sanctioned by the DNCG and the Rhône club was administratively relegated to Ligue 2, as a precautionary measure. The reason for this critical situation? A debt of around 500 million euros according to several sources… Since this announcement, Pierre Sage has remained silent unlike certain Lyon players. This Thursday, before Stade de Reims – OL, the Gones coach spoke.
Pierre Sage is serene
Asked about the departures requested by shareholder John Textor (at least 6), Pierre Sage put things into perspective. “It was already normal given the depth of the squad we had. We have 24 outfield players and four goalkeepers, so it was necessary to reduce the squad in any case. It doesn’t really change the plan,” he first explained.
“The idea is to do it in good intelligence, while keeping the balance of the positions we have, because we have overloaded sectors and others where we are limited. We must respond sportingly to this idea. And yes, I am consulted”, assured Pierre Sage to the press as reported by RMC Sport.
