At the end of the renovation and extension work at the Meinau stadium, Racing will unveil its museum itinerary. In order to highlight objects that illustrate the different eras of the club, Racing is calling on its supporters!
Through several islands spread throughout the stadium, supporters will be able to discover or rediscover the little stories that made it big, from 1906 to the present day. This project aims to preserve and promote the heritage of the club and its former players.
For several months, Racing has launched the collection of all kinds of objects with the aim of exhibiting them or preserving them for subsequent temporary exhibitions. Managers, employees, staff members and former players helped find dozens of original objects: jerseys, goalkeeper gloves, shorts, individual trophies, licenses, match pennants, press clippings, letters, etc.
The club is now calling on its supporters to complete its collection and make the Meinau stadium a place of memory, transmission and celebration of its heritage.
How to contribute?
- Take inventory. We will carefully select the proposals that correspond to the narrative thread of the museum journey:
- Objects of players, coaches (jerseys, shorts, goalkeeper gloves, cleats, jackets, notebooks, etc.)
- Official match pennants
- Original match programs and tickets
- Vintage flags and fan items
- Vintage press clippings
- Individual or collective trophies
- Videos (only filmed with a personal camcorder. We digitize video cassettes in partnership with INA-MIRA).
- Contact us. Send us an email to [email protected] with a list and photos of what you would like to make available for the museum trail.
- Deposit or sending of objects. Once your contribution has been accepted, we will organize the collection or reception of your items.
What will become of the objects?
Your items will be listed and stored in our archives for a few months. As soon as the museum tour opens, they will be placed in secure display cases or preserved for later exhibitions. Your name will appear on the label accompanying the item.
What protection?
The Club favors donations except in exceptional circumstances where a loan can be organized under conditions to be defined on a case-by-case basis. We will then guarantee the protection of your objects, via the conclusion of an agreement defining the terms of provision as well as its duration.
