Next Sunday, December 8, ASSE welcomes OM to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium at the end of the fourteenth day of Ligue 1. Two weeks before this meeting, the Saint-Étienne authorities have reportedly taken a first strong measure for the visitors .
Travel ban: OM deprived of its fans against ASSE
Olympique de Marseille, on a positive dynamic after its victory against RC Lens, will travel to Saint-Étienne on Sunday December 8, on the occasion of the fourteenth day of Ligue 1. Unfortunately for Marseille supporters, bad news tarnishes this move.
Indeed, according to information relayed this Sunday by RMC Sport, the prefect of the Loire issued an order prohibiting OM supporters from going to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium and from circulating in the city center of Saint-Étienne at occasion of this meeting.
In a decree, the Prefect of the Loire notably communicated his decision “banning parking, driving on public roads and access to the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium and the city center of Saint-Étienne for Olympic supporters of Marseille on the occasion of the football match on December 8 between ASSE and OM. »
This decision is not a first for Marseille fans, already deprived of traveling to Nantes at the beginning of November. This ban does not seem to affect OM's away performance, since the Marseille club is currently the best team in Ligue 1 on the road, with 6 wins and 1 defeat in 7 matches.
