While he did not retain Kylian Mbappé for the last gathering of the French team of the year, Didier Deschamps spoke about the difficulties of the Real Madrid striker this Sunday.
Kylian Mbappé is not experiencing the best moments of his career. Quite the contrary. For several months now, the French striker has been going through a complicated period, both at club and national level.
In addition to his difficulties adapting to Real Madrid, the former PSG player, who was once again not selected for the French team by Didier Deschamps for the last rally of the year, would not be in the best dispositions, particularly at the mental level.
“He has everything to do again what he has already done”
“He is in a complicated situation, but that does not take away what he has done and he is supposed to find everything he was able to do very well, even if he too, in the year 2024, he was less effective”, confided the French coach in Téléfoot this Sunday, November 17, when he was questioned about the state of mental health of his players and Kylian Mbappé.
“Sometimes it doesn't respond or it responds less well and there can be a psychological state… Going as far as depression, I don't know, but a psychological state that is fragile. And it’s the head that controls the legs,” he added.
But the coach seemed confident at the idea of seeing Kylian Mbappé return to his best level. “There’s no reason not to think so. I hope so as much as possible. I don't see why he wouldn't come back. He is having a complicated, more difficult period, but he has everything to do again what he has already done,” declared Didier Deschamps.
Remaining with Real Madrid during the international break, Kylian Mbappé will still be eagerly awaited and will try to regain confidence at the weekend when the Spanish club travels to Leganés in La Liga. Before, perhaps, making his return to the French team next March?
