Stade Rennais is preparing to face this Saturday for the 8th day of Ligue 1, but significant concerns weigh on Julien Stéphan’s squad. In addition to the absences already confirmed, three key players of the team, Ludovic Blas, Alidu Seidu, and Christopher Wooh, are under threat of suspension in the event of another warning.

A shower of detrimental absences to be expected?

These three executives, essential in Stéphan’s system, have each accumulated several yellow cards since the start of the season. A new sanction could deprive them of the next crucial meetings. This would be particularly problematic for Ludovic Blas and Alidu Seidu, two players in great form in recent weeks, often described as the best Rennes players currently. Their absence would represent a hard blow for the team, especially at a time when Rennes is looking to regain good momentum in Ligue 1.

Ludovic Blas, the team’s true offensive engine, has established himself as an essential player, capable of making the difference at any time. His playing intelligence and his remarkable performances contributed to the club’s surge of pride at the start of the season. Alidu Seidu, for his part, was solid in defense, displaying a consistency and intensity which strengthened the Rennes defensive block. Julien Stéphan knows that a suspension of these two pillars could greatly weaken the team for the next meetings.

As for Christopher Wooh, although his presence for the match against Brest is still uncertain due to his recent injury, he is also under this sword of Damocles. If Rennes manages to recover it in time, it will have to be careful to avoid missing future deadlines.

For the trip to Brest, Lorenz Assignon, for his part, is already suspended after a accumulation of yellow cards. This absence in the defensive sector, combined with the risks of suspension weighing on Blas, Seidu and Wooh, further complicates Julien Stéphan’s plans for this decisive meeting.
