Turkey only has the name of Arda Güler on its lips. The Turkish press highlights the work of the Real Madrid player during the victory against Montenegro.

Vincenzo Montella’s team broke a record for shots attempted this Saturday, despite a narrow final score (1-0). Güler was the star of the match and everyone in Turkey was saying the same thing: “Let’s hope Ancelotti watched the match.”

Arda Güler started, played 82 minutes and was undoubtedly the best of the Turkish team. He organized the offensive game like a leader on the field. Güler exuded a passion, an effusiveness and a desire to do well that almost cost him expulsion. He has become a key player for Turkey, and he wants to be one for Real Madrid too.

Turkish journalists report that Güler is increasingly involved in the national team’s play. They believe that his arrival at Real Madrid did him good. They feel it is more participatory, more creative, more involved. The best example is the rage with which he celebrated the only goal of the match, scored by Kahveci.

Turkey lead Nations League Group 4 B with seven points, two points ahead of Wales (5 points). It is followed by Iceland (4) and the red lantern, Montenegro (0).
