Contacted by Mehdi Benatia, the French international could have arrived at OM this summer, but the Blues opposed his departure.

Revealed atASSE, Wesley Fofana had left the Greens in 2020 to take the leadership of Leicester. After two seasons with the Foxesthe 23-year-old defender joins Chelsea as part of a transfer estimated at €90M, where he suffered several knee injuries.

As indicated by The Team, Chelsea wanted to take his time with Wesley Fofana. Very little used during the pre-season, the French international (1 selection) then thought about leaving on loan and in this sense, was contacted by Mehdi Benatiasports advisor of theABOUTbut the Blues did not want to part with it.

What Wesley Fofana recently confirmed in an interview with Free Foot : « I had a call that really touched me. It would be a lie to say that I didn’t calculate it. It was Medhi Benatia, from Olympique de , the sports director. And it sure touched me. I think everyone knows why and… I had a thought. But here it is, the objective at the moment is to succeed at Chelsea, to try to string together matches, to establish myself in my club. »
