Action-reaction, LOSC overthrew Toulouse FC this Saturday (2-1) after being led by a pawn. First to appear in the mixed zone at the final whistle, Angel Gomes analyzed the entire match and his individual performance.
Suspended in the Champions League, Angel Gomes (23) was forced to watch his team’s exploit against Real Madrid (1-0) from the stands. “It’s hard when you’re not playing, but this night was incredible. This rewards the work of the team, the staff, everyone. It was a well-deserved victory.”he admitted at a press conference before returning to Toulouse this Saturday.
Started from the start by Bruno Genesio, the Briton took his place behind Jonathan David in the starting lineup. He played the entire match, being an integral part of the two faces displayed by the Mastiffs. At the final whistle, he tried to analyze Lille’s performance in the mixed zone: “When we play on Wednesday and then Saturday, it’s not easy. We have to change a few players and Toulouse has a good first half. It was hard, but the coach told us that we had to stay calm, that the second half would be better for us and that things would changehe began. On an individual level, Angel Gomes is happy to have been able to adapt to the demands of the Toulouse game: “All matches are different and I needed to observe things, to have an analysis. The first half was difficult for me, because I couldn’t find the spaces. Our game was too slow. The second, I managed to do things faster, a bit like the whole team”he analyzed.
This victory allows LOSC to temporarily place itself in fourth place in Ligue 1, an element of satisfaction for the whole group: “The championship is very important. We know that Wednesday was historic for us, but we should not neglect this match against Toulouse for the ranking. The last fifteen to twenty minutes were difficult, but when you play two games a week, you have to win them all. […] Everyone is happy with the result and the effect in the rankings.
