In discussions with Manchester City for a contract extension, Erling Haaland wishes to include a release clause that is widely affordable for his courtiers. If the Norwegian striker had his way, several clubs would be ready to finance his transfer, including Saint-Germain.

Erling Haaland is not the type to let his future be dictated to him. When signing his contracts, the Manchester City striker always takes care to add a release clause. This is also the point which is currently blocking discussions with its leaders. Ready to extend his lease which expires in 2027, the Norwegian would like to set his exit voucher at 100 million pounds, or around 119 million euros. But unsurprisingly, media TEAMtalk claims that Manchester City want to raise the bar much higher.

It is clear that the amount desired by Erling Haaland would make him a very good deal on the transfer market. A striker of this caliber at this price could attract a lot of people, starting with FC Barcelona. Still according to the same source, the Catalan club, which has made Cyborg its priority for next summer, is closely monitoring his situation. The Blaugrana will nevertheless have to part with several important players like Robert Lewandowski, while Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong and Ansu Fati are also cited among the expendable elements.

PSG and Real on the lookout

The operation promises to be difficult for Barça, less well armed than the two other courtiers of the Mancunian. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain remain on the lookout for this file in the event of an opening. It would still be surprising to see Manchester City lose their striker next summer. Our colleagues add that the English management and Erling Haaland, currently in disagreement, are confident about the continuation of the negotiations. Suffice to say that the Citizens will try to strengthen their center forward as quickly as possible.
