After the death in custody of Joey Moreau Nzue: what the medical report reveals

The investigation opened by the prison security services, concerning the death in detention of Joey Moreau Nzue, a young 21-year-old compatriot, has just revealed its results (Death of a young man in detention at Libreville central prison). This is what the said services indicate.

Indeed, according to them, “the young man lost his life following a medical condition”. A source close to the medical service at Libreville central prison specifies that “Joey Moreau Nzue, already ill, was seen at the medical center at the beginning of last September for a wound on one of his lower limbs. He was received and put on treatment on September 4“.

Furthermore, our source continues, “the inmate presented again for consultation on the 25th of the same month for a febrile wet cough evolving in a context of conservation of general condition“. A prescription was prescribed and filled on the same day, we learn.

On the night of September 29 to 30, indicates the same source, Joey’s fellow inmates reported that he had a good day and also communicated with his family, via the social service. It was therefore around 5 a.m. that he reported feeling unwell.

The alert was immediately given to the central prison. Unfortunately, it was during his transfer to the medical center that he died. The clinical examination carried out on the remains by the prison security medical staff revealed that there was no apparent sign of traumatic injury. The remains showed only a bandage on the foot.
