He is one of the players on loan from RC to watch this season. Having turned professional this summer, Anthony Bermont headed to to discover Ligue 2 level and move up a gear. The attacking midfielder is making his mark in Laurent Guyot’s group, a coach who is making way for young people.

“I was very well received by the players, the staff, the whole club, it made everything easierbegins Anthony Bermont, present at a press conference this week in Haute-Savoie. I’m having a good time with my first few days, plus we’re having a good start to the season, which is nice. I was told it was a healthy club, with nice people, and that’s what I found.”

The 19-year-old player is discovering the world of professional football far from Lens, who lent it without an option to buy. A necessary departure, as Bermont points out. “Given that I played quite a bit in the reserve team, the goal was to continue to progress and grow. Going on loan to Ligue 2 was interesting for me in order to have playing time at a higher level than National 3. It’s certain that the option had to be studied. And when I was told about FC Annecy, I immediately said yes. There are quite a few RC Lens players who have been through Annecy: Ibrahima Baldé, Cory Sene… I spoke to them about it, they described a good club to me, that also attracted me. The coach plays the youngsters.”

In Lens, Adrien Thomasson is also a shareholder of FC Annecy. “I’ve already had the opportunity to talk with him,” the new pro continues. “He also has a share of responsibility for my arrival and I thanked him for that.”

Started once and came on as a substitute twice, Anthony Bermont should once again be called upon by his coach since Annecy and the Ligue 2 teams will play three matches in the space of a week.. “There is intensity, there is a lot of running here in Annecy. There is no quiet time, the game is strong. The coach makes the youngsters play, that’s what also motivated me to come. It shows that if we do things well, the coach will give us playing time.”

Tonight, Annecy faces Guingamp away from 8 p.m.
