Robert Lewandowskiof FC Barcelona, is one of the “best penalty area players in modern football“. One of Portuguese coach Roberto Martinez’s strategies for the Nations League match against Poland will therefore be to “stop Lewandowski’s talent”.
During the press conference of the Portuguese coach preceding the Nations League match in Lisbon, Martinez highlighted the “superlative form” of Lewandowski, who has scored 12 goals in 11 matches for Barca.
The coach described the Polish team as “a team that takes risks, attacks and defends with many players“, which will constitute “an important tactical challenge” for Portugal.
Asked about the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting XI against Poland, the Spanish coach replied that the Portugal captain “had a good training in September” and that “now he is training well”.
For his part, the Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandessaid at the press conference that the Portuguese will have to “be patient with the ball” and move it “with a certain intensity” during the match against the Poles.
