Many African football legends, such as Essam El Hadary, Patrick Mboma, Aymen Mathluthi, and Gervinho, will witness the draw for CAN Morocco 2025, CAF announced in a press release.

The event that will take place at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat on Monday, January 27, will be marked by the presence of emblematic figures, true ambassadors of their respective nations and African football, will give a prestigious dimension to this ceremony. They helped to forge the history of CAN thanks to their exceptional performances and their memorable exploits.

The draw will take place in the presence of representatives of the 24 teams qualified for the competition. The 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups, each group comprising 4 teams. The first two teams of each group, as well as the 4 best teams classified in third place, will qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

As host countries, Morocco is automatically qualified, promising an electric atmosphere while local supporters will support their team on their land. With a mixture of experienced teams and newcomers, this edition of the CAN promises to be a captivating showcase of the growth and diversity of African football.

Several nations that have marked the history of African football will be in the running for continental supremacy. The reigning champions, Côte d’Ivoire, will lead a group of former winners including Senegal, Algeria and Egypt. Iconic teams like Nigeria, South Africa, and Tunisia have also qualified.

The CAN 2025 will also highlight the nations in full ascent such as the RDC, Angola, and Gabon which find their place among the elite. Teams like Comoros, Zimbabwe, and Equatorial Guinea continue to surprise by their resilience.
