Luxury chalets in Megève and Courchevel. Villas with hammam, cinema room and underground garage in Cologny or on the Côte d’Azur. Eric Arnoux, a promoter who wanted to shine in the very high end, now famous for his failures worth several tens of millions, finds himself in the dock at the Geneva Criminal Court. Tried since Monday for multiple financial embezzlements, the person concerned defends himself by evoking crisis, jealousy and betrayal. He claims to have himself lost much more than his creditors in this adventure, denounces a plot aimed at harming him and describes an affair that makes people shudder.

Eric Arnoux, born 58 years ago in , trained as a building engineer, presented as the architect of the debacle of the Planet group and many other companies under his control, was arrested on March 29, 2017 at his arrival at Cointrin. The person concerned, who had launched into the real estate development of exceptional properties in Switzerland and abroad, spent sixty-five days in pre-trial detention before being released on bail of 250,000 francs. Since 2019, he has resided in Dubai and still works in the real estate sector. “The volume of cases has been non-existent for two years,” he said to the judges. The defendant kept a very large chalet in Megève, but explains that he had to borrow from his daughters or friends to pay the charges.
