Morocco and Palestine plan to intensify their cooperation in the agricultural field, thanks to a strategic meeting held in Berlin. Friday, Ahmed El Bouari, Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, discussed with Rizq Abd al-Rahman Salem Salimia, his Palestinian counterpart, on ways to consolidate this bilateral partnership .

This discussion, organized on the sidelines of the 89th edition of Berlin Green Week, highlighted three priority areas for cooperation: forests, irrigation and agricultural production. “Morocco is a key partner on which Palestine relies enormously, particularly in the agricultural sector,” Rizq Abd al-Rahman Salem Salimia told MAP. He also praised the deep and fraternal ties between the two nations and their people, calling Morocco a “brotherly country dear to our hearts”.

A Moroccan agricultural heritage in the spotlight

Moroccan participation in this edition of Green Week is distinguished by a pavilion rich in local products, illustrating the cultural and agricultural heritage of the Kingdom. Inaugurated by Ahmed El Bouari in the presence of his German counterpart, Cem Özdemir, this pavilion brings together 21 exhibitors from the 12 regions of the country. Among the products on display are typically Moroccan treasures, such as argan oil and its derivatives, saffron, dates, olive oil and aromatic and medicinal plants.

These products, which comply with international standards of quality and sustainability, demonstrate the importance of the agricultural sector for Morocco, as a driver of economic development and a showcase of its know-how.
