Fraudulent loans: BNDE files complaint for 3 billion FCFA not repaid

XALIMANEWS-The National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) filed a complaint with the Kaolack public prosecutor’s office in a case of loans granted on the basis of alleged false documents. The investigation was entrusted to the Kaolack Research Brigade. This complaint targets “a very well-known company based in Dakar”, according to the newspaper Libération, which revealed the information in its edition of Monday January 13.

According to the newspaper, this company had obtained, in 2018, three loans totaling 3 billion CFA francs. As a guarantee, the debtor had offered three plots of land located in Sing-Sing, in the Kaolack region, estimated at 4 billion CFA francs by an expert, specifies the same source.

However, Libération reports that the BNDE discovered a serious problem during the seizure of land, motivated by the non-repayment of loans, and the auctioning of these properties. A second opinion revealed that none of the three plots of land were estimated at more than 100 million CFA francs, a total of less than 300 million, largely insufficient to cover the 3 billion lent.

Faced with this situation, the BNDE decided to file a complaint in Kaolack, where the land in question is located, as well as the notary and the expert involved in these suspicious transactions.
