A few days ago, suffice to say, last year already, Santa’s bag, his costume as well as that of his elf Barnabé, were stored on high shelves in the premises on the road to Paradou, where lives The White Lady. For eleven months, they will collect dust while waiting for next December for a 28th tour…
Santa Claus’ unusual New Year’s Eve
In 1998, the actor Bruno Macheboeuf who – this cannot be made up – then delivered parcels from the Post Office after having sold toys on the 2nd floor of the Nouvelles Galeries d’Agen, could not go to New Year’s Eve with his family for geographical reasons. He then decides to spend the evening with several families in the Agen area that he does not know. This is how, dressed in the Santa Claus outfit, he distributes gifts and has had unusual New Year’s Eves for 27 years! Since 2013, he has been accompanied by Barnabé and it is Antoine Defoort who plays this atypical role of elf.
Timothy, the youngest
As Christmas was not enough for them, the two friends created two years later, the duo Ze Twomenchauds which, now, roams the stages of original and crazy creations. To their credit, a detective comedy and a show on Molière which they still perform. For 2 and a half years, they have invented the character of the bear Timothée. A first adventure entitled “The extraordinary journey of Timothée” focuses on ecology and family, the main subjects of this story for children. Last October, at the invitation of the Boé Reading Festival, which had sport as its theme, the second show was born: “Timothée and Maggy at the Olympix Games”. The duo – accompanied by their manager Ambre Lagleyre in the Maggy costume – will play and delight the children during the Christmas trees of several works councils in the Agen area. For schools too, like those of Bon-Encontre where three performances were given at the Jacques Prévert cultural center. This funny, playful and participatory show which advocates virtues such as mutual aid, team spirit and friendship , will be played throughout this new year for all municipalities or schools that request them.
New representations
Until then, the two friends will be on stage at the Galion de Foulayronnes with their show “Ze Twomenchauds play Molière, well almost…”, Sunday January 26 at 4 p.m., for the benefit of the Karito Senegal association. The previous week, they will have passed through Hagetmau in the Landes, will be at the Théâtre de Mézin in April… and among others near Poitiers for 3 dates in March… 2026!
The adventure continues for the better and for laughter and as everyone knows, laughter is good for your health and the duo wishes everyone excellent for this new year!
