EIn response to two questions on the “Cities without Slums” program, El Mansouri affirmed that these results were the fruit of the efforts made by the government and the coordination between his department and the Ministry of the Interior.
She specified that this program, launched in 2004, had made it possible to improve the living conditions of more than 360,000 families, to declare 61 cities and urban centers free of slums, in addition to providing more than 80,000 households with housing units. currently in progress.
In order to guarantee more efficiency in the implementation and acceleration of this program, she noted that the Executive had adopted a new intervention approach through the five-year program 2024-2028 which targets around 120,000 households, specifying that the program is based on the rehousing model, the integration of the private sector, the mobilization of apartments by real estate developers within the framework of calls for expressions of interest, in addition to the adoption of the housing assistance program as an additional financing mechanism for the benefit of slum dwellers.
This new approach has given positive results, she estimated, noting that at the level of the Skhirate-Témara prefecture, contracts have been concluded with 33,300 households, including 22,643 already housed and 10,357 in progress.
Concerning Greater Casablanca, an agreement was signed in July 2024 for the resettlement of 62,000 households, she noted.
El Mansouri also announced the launch in early 2025 of a call for expressions of interest for the benefit of around 7,000 families in Benslimane and some 30,000 households in Marrakech.
