A resident discovered two Stars of David on Sunday afternoon on the front door of a building and in its lobby. A third star was discovered at another address, the public prosecutor said.
According to the same source, the investigation was opened for “degradation or deterioration of the property of others committed because of race, ethnicity, nation or religion”. “It’s despicable”is indignant Florence Ménard, 60 years old and resident of one of the tagged buildings, which is also located “50 meters from the synagogue”. Ten years ago, on January 9, 2015, a hostage-taking in Hypercacher by jihadist terrorist Amedy Coulibaly caused the death of four people of Jewish faith.
In the neighboring town of Fontenay-sous-Bois, four people were arrested on Sunday evening for entering a building and drawing Stars of David with a red marker, according to a police source. “The investigations must in particular determine whether the two cases are linked”notes the Créteil public prosecutor's office.
