UNITED STATES. Americans pay tribute to peacemaker Jimmy Carter

“We will miss him,” William Brown, 71, told AFP, who wanted to come and greet “a normal, everyday man.”

Alan Bowers, a 48-year-old teacher, said he came to pay tribute to Jimmy Carter for all his accomplishments after his term, which are “unparalleled by any other president in the history of the United States.”

In front of the family farm where he grew up, the bell rang 39 times, in tribute to the 39th President of the United States.
