Switzerland was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the U20 World Championship this Thursday in Ottawa. The young Swiss hockey players were dominated by the United States, winners 7-2.
The mass was practically said after 11’35 of play and the third American goal. A change of goalkeeper (Elijah Neuenschwander replaced Christian Kirsch) and the reduction of the Swiss score, signed by Nils Rhyn to 4 against 5 (16th), could have restarted the game, but the United States quickly regained a three-goal lead (17th), before striking three more times in the middle third.
Andro Kaderli added a second goal for Switzerland after the second tea, in power play (47th), but the step was too high for Marcel Jenni’s players. The latter therefore leave Canada with only one victory in five matches, obtained against Kazakhstan in the last match of the group stage.
