Achraf Hakimi continues to leave his mark in the history of Saint-Germain. During yesterday’s match between PSG and Monaco (4-2), he broke the record for the highest number of assists made by a defender in the history of the Parisian club.

Hakimi delivered an assist on PSG’s first goal, scored by Désiré Doué. With this 25th assist in an official match under Parisian colors, he surpasses the old record of the Brazilian Maxwell (24 assists), thus becoming the best assisting defender in the club’s history.

In his statements after the match, Hakimi was satisfied with the team’s performance. “I am happy with this victory, both individually and collectively. These three points were essential. The fighting spirit was decisive from the start. We knew it would be a difficult match against a quality team,” he stressed, before adding:

“It’s all about team spirit. We know each other very well in the group. I saw my teammate’s position and passed the ball to him. We reproduced what we had already done in the Champions League.”

As a reminder, the Atlas Lion also has the greatest number of chances to his credit and also the one who has recovered the most balls defensively this season.
