4B, the leading Swiss supplier of windows and facades, is sold to the international window supplier Dovista S/A. The growth strategy in Hochdorf will continue to be implemented, it is said.

The family business 4B – the Swiss market leader for windows and facades based in Hochdorf (LU) – becomes part of the internationally active Dovista A/S. The sale of the company to Dovista A/S opens up exciting growth prospects for 4B.

Dovista is the leading window supplier in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden), with strong positions in the UK and Ireland. The Dovista Group includes 13 European window manufacturers. They develop, produce and sell windows and exterior doors made of wood, wood/aluminum and plastic primarily for the Scandinavian and Northern European markets. Dovista, in turn, belongs to the Danish VKR Holding, which also includes the roof window manufacturer Velux. The VKR Group is owned by the Villum family foundation.

The four brothers (4B) Mark, Otto, Ivo and Rainer Bachmann took over the Schreinerei Bachmann AG in 1996 in the fourth generation and developed it into the national market leader. Today 4B can look back on a successful history spanning almost 130 years.

4B is currently investing around 35 million francs in a factory expansion at the Hochdorf location and is positioning itself for a long-term successful future in Switzerland. Investments are being made in particular in a new machining system, the heart of window production, four new halls and a renewable energy supply. “With the four new halls and the new machining system, we are creating the basis for the long-term optimization of our production processes and sustainable growth,” says Jean-Marc Devaud, CEO at 4B.

Dovista’s extensive industry expertise, combined with the tradition of a family business, are the guarantee for the successful further development of 4B, according to a press release. Thanks to 4B’s strong market expertise, the many motivated and long-standing employees and the experienced management, the conditions for this step into the future are ideal.

Growth strategy in Hochdorf

4B will continue to operate as an independent Swiss company with a factory in Hochdorf (LU) and the growth strategy will be implemented as planned. The sale of the company is subject to approval by the Swiss Competition Commission
