More fear than harm. 15 days after the announcement of her disappearance, teenager Morgane was found safe and sound. Between November 25 and December 10, a large-scale system was deployed: 70 gendarmes were engaged, while helicopters, drones, divers and dog teams were deployed.
In total, more than 700 people were interviewed as part of a door-to-door operation, which ultimately bore fruit. At the start of the week, the 13-year-old girl
was located in Coutancesmore than 200 kilometers from his home in Pabu.
Morgane, found alive in a home
“When we have a disappearance, we have a certain number of investigations that are carried out. Door-to-door brings you human resources who will provide information, which will be able to be cross-checked with all the investigations carried out on digital resources , we also made a call for witnesses (…)”, explains Marie-Laure Pezant, spokesperson for the national gendarmerie.
“It was fruitful because at one point, we had testimonies. Everything that was collected allowed us to say that there was information that seemed credible to us. This is how we arrived in Coutances”,
she continues. All this time, Morgane lived in a hostel for young workers. Adrien, a 21-year-old man who was at the same location, was taken into police custody for “kidnapping and sequestration of a 15-year-old minor”.
Morgane's mother shares thanks
For her part, Morgane's mother published a message on her Facebook account, in which she thanks all the people who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the research linked to the disappearance of her daughter. “I leave this little note to all the people who supported us in these very difficult times (family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, bosses, establishment staff, Mr. Mayor and the entire commune of Pabu)”she writes.
And to conclude: “We also thank all the people who came (beaten people, posters in shops, in train stations, etc.). We also thank the Guingamp gendarmerie and the Rennes research section. We have received many messages of sympathy from people all over France, we have not been able to respond to everyone, but please know that we have read you well and that we thank you warmly.”
