Agadir-Dakar commercial maritime line: The signed memorandum of understanding

The signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Agadir-Dakar commercial maritime line took place on Wednesday, under the presidency of the wali of the Souss-Massa region, governor of the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Said Amzazi.

Under this document initialed by the president of the Council of the Souss-Massa region, Karim Achengli and Gregory Darling, president of the company “Atlas Marine”, responsible for carrying out the project, this new maritime link aims to optimize the transport of goods and respond to the logistical challenges linked to land routes.

It aims to facilitate the flow of trade between Morocco and West African countries by reducing transport costs and increasing the efficiency of the transport of goods and trucks.

This ambitious project will help strengthen trade and open new investment horizons between the two parties.

In a statement to MAP, Mr. Achengli stressed that the establishment of the Agadir-Dakar commercial maritime line is part of the implementation of the Royal Vision which places great interest in strengthening cooperation. African.

This project will bring added value to existing trade between the Kingdom and other countries on the African continent, welcomed Mr. Achengli, noting that this new maritime line will also contribute to the promotion of sustainable development of the Souss-Massa region. .

This direct bridge between Agadir and Dakar will open new prospects for importers and exporters and promote intra-African trade, he added.

For his part, the president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) Souss-Massa, Driss Boutti, indicated that the establishment of the Agadir-Dakar commercial maritime line comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation and of fruitful partnership linking Morocco and African countries, stating the intention to soon open new maritime lines between the capital of Souss and other African destinations.

The signing ceremony of this memorandum of understanding took place in the presence of several public and private officials and economic actors.
