A rock opera that makes you think of Starmania. Especially since the central element of Cornelius Spaeter’s decor, a staircase which leads to a gallery, all on a spinner which makes the building waltz, evokes the Underground café. Except that here, the restaurant is called La Pompadour and is managed by Cinderella’s implacable stepmother (perfect Clara Brancorsini). But it is above all in the band of thugs who shake up the established order that we find the touch of Michel Berger and Luc Plamandon. Until seeing Daniel Balavoine in the rebellious guise of Florestan Blanchon…
You will have understood, the recreation of Cinderella’s Basketballa 1992 hit from Compagnie 100% Acrylique, plays the vintage card to the fullest. The only contemporary clue? The smartphone. Which the naughty girls (excellent Maud Faucherre and Verena Lopes) abuse by multiplying the stories in selfie mode. And what condemns the gang of thugs with a catchy “Come on, come to our reality, cell phones, we leave them aside”. A clear message aimed at children aged 7 and over who are without hesitation the target audience for this show written and directed by Evelyne Castellino.
