The selection process for the new permanent CEO is well underway, managed by a special committee of the board of directors, and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. By then, a temporary executive committee, chaired by John Elkann, will be formed.

Stellantis confirms its financial objectives presented to the community on October 31, 2024 for the 2024 financial year.

Henri de Castries, senior independent director of Stellantis, said: “The success of Stellantis is based on perfect alignment between the key shareholders, the Board of Directors and the CEO. However, in recent weeks, differences have emerged, leading to today’s decision by the Board of Directors and the CEO. »

John Elkann, Chairman of Stellantis, added: “We warmly thank Carlos Tavares for his years of service and for his instrumental role in the creation of Stellantis, as well as in the restructuring of PSA and Opel. We look forward to working with the new interim executive committee with the support of all our colleagues at Stellantis, as we continue the process of appointing our new CEO. Together, we will ensure that we continue to deploy the company’s strategy in the long-term interest of Stellantis and all of its stakeholders. »
