In the Rhône, the situation remains complex this Monday, November 25, at the end of the day, due to storm Bert. More than 250 interventions by firefighters were counted.
Gusts of wind blow on the Rhône this Monday, November 25. The department is placed on orange wind alert, while gusts of 125 km/h were recorded at the Lyon-Bron station. Between midnight and 5 p.m., 253 firefighter interventions were recorded by the SDMIS. Throughout the Lyon Metropolis, residents are also reporting numerous tree falls.
At Parilly Park, in eastern Lyon, where a gust of 142 km/ha was measured by the Lyon Météo station, around fifty trees were uprooted by the wind. As a precaution in the face of Storm Bert, many parks are closed. The Lyon Christmas market has also closed its “portes“. “Due to weather conditions, the OL Vallée leisure center is closed until the end of the afternoon“, for its part warned the management of OL Vallée. The Métropole de Lyon has taken the decision to close all its recycling centers until at least this evening.
On the A47 motorway, between Lyon and Saint-Etienne, a truck was partly overturned by the wind, near Ternay. If traffic on the roads remains complex, this is also the case in Lyon for the trams. Several lines are severely disrupted this Monday at the end of the day.
Finally, at 4:30 p.m., 5,500 homes in the Rhône were without electricity, reports Enedis to our colleagues at Progress.
