While he was eating, a father found two pieces of glass inside his hamburger steak, one of which cut his mouth. An alarming incident for those who usually buy them for their son, reports Bleu.

A dinner that could have turned into a tragedy. Thursday, November 21 in the evening, when he had just sat down to a Picard brand hamburger steak, Maxime Peyron, radio host at France Bleu , made a worrying discovery. Two pieces of glass were in his steak, one of which he almost swallowed, he told France Bleu Vaucluse.

“After biting into my frozen steak, I feel something cracking in my mouth. I realize that I am bleeding”relates the man who is also a father. The cause of his bleeding is none other than a piece of glass, in his mouth, coming from the inside of the hamburger steak. “When I open the steak, I see a second piece, whole this time”he continues.

If the radio host had the reflex to spit, he is worried about what his 2-year-old son would have done in his place. Because he is the one who usually eats these minced steaks. “He would have swallowed the piece of glass or worse! He would have said nothing to me and continued to eat”he is alarmed.

An investigation opened by the DDPP

Maxime Peyron immediately contacted the National Food Safety Agency (ANSES) as well as Picard sur of glass could be found in the other boxes of the same batch, reports Le Parisien.

The host of France Bleu Vaucluse also contacted the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection (DDPP), which opened an investigation in order to understand how pieces of glass could have ended up in this chopped steak and to determine the responsibility of Picard. If it turns out that the risk could exist for other hamburger steaks from the brand, the latter will have to recall all products from consumers.
