In addition to the worker who died in a school under renovation, authorities announced this Sunday, November 24, that another person had been injured. She was then taken care of by emergency services.

On the night of October 28 to 29, 2024, the Valencia region was hit by terrible floods which left more than 200 dead and many missing.

Nearly a month later, and while residents try to clean up the damage as best they can, the Spanish press announces that a worker who was carrying out renovations in a school located in Massanassa, in the suburbs of Valencia, died when a wall fell on him.

Another person has been injured and was taken care of by emergency services.

The building was to be demolished

According to 324cat, the school had suffered significant damage due to flooding and it had to be demolished before its reconstruction. The students had been transferred to another establishment.

For his part, Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish Prime Minister, reacted on his Twitter account. “All my love and solidarity to family, friends and colleagues of the worker who died this morning while carrying out cleaning tasks at a school in Massanassa affected by DANA”, he wrote.
