Saint-Louis will be home to the rhythm of the Metissons Festival scheduled for November 29 to 30. This event, part of the city’s cultural agenda, will feature a diversity of local, national and international artists.
“For the 2024 edition, the Saint-Louis artist Mbaye Ndiaye “Tilala”, one of the headliners, will share the stage with the Guissé and Chadia brothers and the Welliband from Senegal”, informed Babacar GUÈYE, the president of Metissons
The singer, composer and instrumentalist of Mauritanian origin Noura Mint Seymali will be the other headliner of this cultural event.
Other artists like Samba Lobi Traoré from Mali and Mike Overlord from Haiti will also be there,” he indicated before recalling that the stage of the French Institute will be the main venue of the said Festival with concerts planned for the weekend.
Decentralized concerts are planned in other places such as cabarets and restaurants in the city.
Also on the program for this Festival, a “Takassanu Ndar” carnival (parade across the Island) is planned with the aim of revisiting the history of Saint-Louis.
“The Métissons Festival tends towards cultural entrepreneurship and cultural initiatives through trade shows and other networking activities,” said Mr. GUÈYE. He says he is committed and determined to work for the sustainability of this cultural and tourist event. Hence the solemn appeal launched to the Senegalese authorities and business leaders in the North to support cultural initiatives.
