A young woman who decided to take sick leave to travel experienced an embarrassing moment when she saw her boss… who was taking the same flight as her.
In a video posted to TikTok, Grace explains that she had asked for a day off, claiming a “doctor’s appointment.” In reality, she was flying back to her home in Bali, Indonesia.
The 23-year-old self-employed woman often travels between her hometown and Europe for work.
However, she faced an unpleasant surprise at the airport. “I was waiting in line when I saw a familiar face approach me and call my name,” she told Newsweek.
His boss asked him sarcastically: “So this is the hospital?”
The young woman was not, however, frustrated by this unexpected encounter. “I was very surprised [de le voir]but we ended up laughing together,” Grace told the British media.
She explained that they chatted until they returned to their respective seats.
Tens of thousands of Internet users reacted to Grace’s video. One person said “she would have cried like a baby and given her resignation letter” if she had experienced this situation.
Another individual said he also took sick leave to travel and his boss called him while he was waiting for his flight. “We could between the boarding announcements in the background,” he wrote in the comments section.
