Émile affair: a woman will be tried in July for defamation against the little boy’s grandfather

The Émile affair had, like all news items that keep the whole country in suspense, given rise to its share of interpretations and rumors. One of them leads to a judgment. A woman, accused of having defamed the little boy’s grandfather, will be tried at the criminal court of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) from July 11, Le Parisien learned from a judicial source, confirmation of information from BFMTV .

According to our colleagues, this woman, under the cover of a pseudonym, published serious accusations on Facebook about the role of Émile’s grandfather, Philippe V. Posing as a secretary at the town hall of La Bouilladisse (Bouches-du-Rhône), the town where Émile’s grandparents live, she claimed that Philippe V. was responsible for the child’s disappearance, that he had molested patients when he was working as an osteopath and that he was defrauding Social Security.

The IP address helped track the woman

A complaint for defamation was then filed by Émile’s grandparents last March. The investigation made it possible, in particular thanks to the IP address, to trace this woman. It turns out that she was not a secretary at La Bouilladisse town hall at all.

The trial will be held on July 11 in Marseille, almost a year to the day after Émile’s disappearance in the village of Haut-Vernet. After months of patrols, searches and investigations, bones belonging to the little boy were finally found by a hiker at the end of March, a few hundred meters from the place of his disappearance.
