Last Friday, around 11 p.m., A. Diallo had a date with death. The man, who lives at 10 Rue Pikine, took the Malick Sy Highway. When he reached the Patte d’Oie slip road, a few dozen meters from the Mariama Niass school, he was stopped by an individual in his thirties.
The latter, who will later be identified as having the same last name (Diallo) as him and whose first name also begins with A, accosts him and, without wasting time, attempts to rob him. The victim resists and pushes his tormentor to draw a kitchen knife which he sticks into him several times. One of the blows disembowels the walker, who collapses and begins to bleed out.
A. Diallo, the attacker, leans over the poor man and empties his pockets before turning on his heel. A few meters further, he retraced his steps and finished off his victim, who was dying, with a blow that opened his chest.
The crime accomplished, the murderer rushes into the darkness, towards Grand-Yoff. The remains of the Pikinenois will be recovered by the firefighters and deposited at the Idrissa Pouye Hospital of Grand-Yoff for autopsy. Alerted, the elements of the police station of Parcelles Assainies deploy on the scene of the crime, make the usual observations and open an investigation.
To be more effective in tracking down the killer, Commissioner Kébé’s men team up with those of his colleague from Grand-Yoff, Commissioner Kaïré, and the technical and scientific police. The elements of the research brigades of the two police stations carry out a security operation in their areas of competence which will bear fruit: several suspicious individuals are arrested. A. Diallo is one of them.
The latter will be unmasked by the surveillance cameras deployed around the highway slip road located at the Patte d’Oie. “The images clearly show the attacker committing his heinous crime. Better still, he was still wearing the same clothes,” says L’Observateur, quoted by Seneweb.
Worse for the alleged murderer, the newspaper reports, the police arrested him while he was holding the murder weapon, stained with blood, that of the victim according to the police’s scientific analyses.
A. Diallo was taken into custody and then presented to the public prosecutor, the same source reported.
