Russian Mirra Andreeva (world number 23) lost in the first round of Wimbledon on Monday, July 1. She was held to a draw by Czech Brenda Fruhvirtová (number 88) in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. To reach the third round, the 17-year-old will have to defeat Spaniard Paula Badosa (number 93).

The young Russian Mirra Andreeva, ranked 23rd in the world and semi-finalist at Roland-Garros in June, was beaten by the Czech Brenda Fruhvirtová (88th), also 17 years old. She lost in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, this Monday 1is July in the first round of Wimbledon. Last year, for her first participation, Andreeva had reached the 8th finals. A feat that she was unable to repeat.

Paula Badosa in the second round

In her first Major appearance on grass, Fruhvirtová will face Spaniard Paula Badosa (93rd) in an attempt to reach the third round, which would be her best result in a Grand Slam.

Badosa, who is battling back pain, clearly dominated in the first round the Czech Karolina Muchova (34th), who had reached the quarter-finals twice (2019 and 2021) but who is recovering from physical problems.
