ÉcoMobile 3R is launching the POP Carpooling initiative in Trois-Rivières to raise public awareness of the benefits of sustainable mobility and reduce solo car travel.

To do this, the organization relies on the application Let’s go which developed a French-speaking interface for the occasion. The application has a million users in Canada, but very few in Quebec.

” We chose Let’s go for its ease of use and recognized effectiveness. This application makes it easy to connect carpoolers, thus promoting a significant reduction in CO emissions.2 and transportation costs for participants,” notes Yves Beaudoin, president of ÉcoMobile 3R.

“We want to start the habit of carpooling in Trois-Rivières. We want to make a major turn in Trois-Rivières, a turn that will lead us to the Solo Car Challenge in the fall. We want to be the best in Quebec,” he adds.

ÉcoMobile 3R intends in particular to create carpooling communities at Collège Laflèche, Cégep de Trois-Rivières and the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, three organizations which have given their support to the project.

Full details are available online at covoituragepop.com. It is also possible to download the application Let’s go on Apple and Android smartphones.
