Tivaouane, June 26 (APS) – The inspector of education and training (IEF) of the department of Tivaouane (Thiès west), Amadou Dia, welcomed “the smooth running of the tests” of the Certificate of end of elementary studies (CFEE) and the entrance exam to sixth grade in his academic district, after a visit to several centers on Tuesday.

Inspector Amadou Dia visited several schools in the commune of Tivaouane and another in Ndiassane, accompanied by the deputy prefect, Mamadou Thiam, on the first day of the tests.

The exam ends this Wednesday.

During this visit which took them to School 3, the Cheikh Boucounta school, the Madiama Diop school, School 10 and the Franco-Arab Center, the educational and administrative authorities observed first-hand the “massive presence of students, from the early hours of the morning,” reported Amadou Dia.

Supervisors were also present in large numbers, as were members of the administrative staff, including center heads, he added.

Mr. Dia, citing his fellow inspectors who traveled through the four districts of the Tivaouane department, notably Pambal, Niakhéne, Mérina Dakhar and Méouane, reported the start of the tests “without a hitch”.

Noting the presence in each class of two teachers to supervise the tests, the inspector paid tribute to them for having shown “sacrifice” in order to supervise the students throughout the school year.

The support of parents of students at home was also decisive, he suggested, recalling that the CFEE exam and the sixth grade entrance exam are “not a two-day affair, but of an entire school year”.

For Amadou Dia, “the teachers’ self-sacrifice is not in vain, since Tivaouane has been at the top of the Thiès Academy for three years”.

The deputy prefect, Mamadou Thiam, in the same vein, praised the conditions for the smooth running of the examination, which were “totally met”, wherever the delegation visited.

He mentioned in addition to sufficient supervisors, “clearly visible security”.

Mr. Thiam said he was confident about the outcome of the CFEE tests and the sixth grade entrance exam in the Tivaouane department.
