One week before the first round of the early legislative elections on June 30, the far-right party, the National Rally (RN) and its allies are leading the voting intentions in various polls carried out this weekend.

According to opinion surveys by the Elabe and Ipsos institutes, relayed by the French press, the RN of Jordan Bardella and its right-wing allies led by Eric Ciotti came first in voting intentions for the first round with between 35.5 and 36%.

If the results of these polls are confirmed by the polls next Sunday, the RN and its allies could send between 250 and 280 deputies to the National Assembly, for an absolute majority of 289 out of 577 seats to be filled.

In second place comes the New Popular Front, an alliance of the left made up of La France Insoumise (LFI), the Socialist Party (PS), the Communist Party (PS) and the Ecologists, credited with 27 to 29.5%.

The presidential coalition comes in third position with between 19.5 and 20%, according to these two polls.

This Monday, the president of the RN, Jordan Bardella, who promised to be the “prime minister of all French people” in the event of his party’s victory, unveiled the electoral program of his political party, focused on several priorities such as purchasing power, administrative and health reform, the fight against insecurity and immigration control.

Among other things, he promised an “audit of the nation’s accounts” in order to make savings, while France has just been singled out by the European Commission for its excessive deficit, to “restore oxygen” economically to the French, in particular by “reconnecting with French electricity prices” and “lowering taxes”.

He also indicated that he wanted better “control of immigration”, in particular through the abolition of land law and action on “security” and “putting authority back at the heart of public action” in particular to protect ” women and representatives of law and order” with in particular the establishment of minimum sentences and the end of the minority excuse.

Jordan Bardella also promised to restore “the senior civil service” and establish a “full tax share for the second child” in order to boost the birth rate.

After the RN’s unprecedented score (31.47%) in the Europeans, President Emmanuel Macron announced on June 9 the dissolution of the National Assembly and the calling of early legislative elections (1st round on June 30 and the second round July 7).

In the run-up to this election, the left-wing parties created a popular front, a part of the right made up mainly of “The Republicans” joined the RN and the Renaissance presidential majority announced new measures to win back its electorate.
