In Switzerland, all children know the logos of CFF, Migros or Coop, which have been the same for ages. It is therefore surprising that Coop is advertising again with a “new” logo: the one that adorned the stores until 2001.
Coop is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year, which is why this retro logo has been printed on the bags that can be purchased inexpensively at the checkouts, according to the Coop press service. There are no further plans to use the old logo.

The current logo has already existed for more than two decades; it was introduced when the regional cooperatives Coop and Coop Switzerland merged into a single Coop in 2001. For the moment, no design changes to the current logo are planned.
