Loïc Meillard went on foot to the Swiss slalom team training this Thursday in Levi. So no skiing for the Hérensard, who was taking a day off after putting on the slats for the first time since Sölden at the start of the week. “It’s going well,” however, smiled the giant world vice-champion, as he went up the “Ice 2” track which ends its race in the village of Levi. Although he found snow again on Tuesday, the Valaisan is not yet certain about his resumption of competition.

Despite everything, he hopes to be there on Sunday for the Levi slalom, the first of the winter. But this Thursday, he simply attended the training of his friends from the Swiss slalom team and took the opportunity to take a few photos. A decision on his departure is due to be made on Friday when he trains again at the Sami resort. If in doubt, he could also wait until Saturday, or even Sunday before the first round of the event. In the event of a package, it will not be replaced.

Loïc Meillard injured his back just before the opening giant’s departure in Sölden. Very fit, the four-time World Cup winner had “taken a hole” during the warm-up in Austria. Examinations revealed a tear in the covering of an intervertebral disc.
