Françoise Hardy didn’t like the light. At least, she didn’t like being on stage, the target of all the attention. This Thursday, June 20, however, she was present in everyone’s thoughts despite herself. The meeting was arranged by Jacques Dutronc and their son Thomas at crematorium of the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris for the final tribute to the singer, who passed away at the age of 80 after a very long battle against illness.
If her ex Jean-Marie Périer indicated that he was happy for her and that he wanted more than ever for her ordeal to end, the pain caused by the absence is immense. To properly accompany Françoise Hardy on her last journey, many celebrities came. We included Brigitte Macron, the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, François Ozon and the actress Marine Vacth not far from Nadine Trintignant and Dominique Besnehard. Obviously, big names in music came to extend the list of guests: Julien Clerc, Louis and Matthieu Chedid, Laurent Voulzy, Étienne Daho, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Nicolas Sarkozy, Nolwenn Leroy, Salvatore Adamo, Sheila, Marc Lavoine and of course Jacques Dutronc, the man she loved so much, father of her son from whom she never divorced.
Jacques and Thomas Dutronc arrived together, the duo was also accompanied by Sylvie Duval, companion of Jacques Dutronc with whom he lives in Françoise’s house in Monticello in Upper Corsica. The latter was also hugged by fans as she left the funeral, playing a key role in spite of herself. If there were more than 2000 who wanted to pay a last tribute to Françoise Hardy, some unfortunately were not able to make the trip.
Alain Souchon and Véronique Sanson noticed by their absence
As indicated by Parisian in its June 21 edition, the day after the ceremony, stars from the French music world were unable to make the trip: Alain Souchon and Véronique Sanson, due to tour. The two artists therefore missed the arrival of the hearse from which Thomas Dutronc and his father Jacques emerged. It was to the applause of the public that the car made its entrance. Inside the crematorium dome, four large photos were installed, three of them signed Jean-Marie Périer. Just like what Françoise Hardy wanted for the ceremony, no religious services and even fewer speeches. Only a few titles resonate, interspersed with snippets of interviews with Françoise Hardy and technical bugs. This is the song Message Personnel which was chosen to accompany the cremation. Let those who love her rest assured, one day they will be able to find her again…
