The Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA) organized the awards ceremony for the 2nd edition of the National AGRIYOUNG INNOVATE Competition, aiming to distinguish innovative projects carried out by young entrepreneurs in the agricultural field. This competition, conducted in collaboration with the Korean-World Bank Partnership Facility and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) of Ben Guerir, is part of the youth entrepreneurship program, a central element of the “Green Generation 2020- 2030” of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.
Four innovative projects were awarded this year. The first prize was awarded to Mohamed and Jamal Baghrous for their TAYSSIR SYSTEMS project, an agricultural robot designed to optimize the health and productivity of date palms. The second prize went to Abderrahim Sadkaoui and Mouhamed Fadil for their BEESMART project, a continuous monitoring solution for beekeepers. Third prize was awarded to Mona and Ayoub Alami for their FERTIDEV project, intelligent electromechanical composters. Finally, the “Jury’s Favorite” prize rewarded Morad El Goujili and Hajar Echchellaoui for SIMPOWER, an electric mini-tractor. These three projects will benefit from support to facilitate their commercial development or fundraising. Other participants will also receive support through territorial immersion and support for business creation.
Launched in 2022 in partnership with UM6P, the AGRIYOUNG INNOVATE competition is experiencing growing success. This second edition attracted 380 applications from all over Morocco and abroad. Twenty-six projects were selected for an intensive five-month program, including five Bootcamps, online coaching sessions, personalized mentoring and access to UM6P facilities, such as the Fablab, the experimental farm, the School of Architecture, Planning & Design (SAP+D) and the Green Energy Park for the development of prototypes. This system aims to strengthen participants’ skills in entrepreneurship and management.
As a reminder, the AGRIYOUNG INNOVATE National Competition encourages young people to develop projects in digital and climate-smart agriculture, thus contributing to the modernization and resilience of Moroccan agriculture while opening new perspectives to young entrepreneurs in the sector.
